ULTIMA
The Ultimate Performance Machine

Don't believe me! In the time it takes to read this, you will have accelerated to 130 kph. By the time you reach the end of this sentence, you will be travelling at a speed in excess of 225 kph and the man who can confirm this is our motor racing legend, Dick Johnson.

Dick Johnson Racing will oversee the final preparation and tuning of every Ultima prior to delivery and each car will carry DJR's stamp of approval.

So, who builds this supercar? The car is hand-crafted in the UK to individual customer specifications and can be delivered to comply with international GT and Le Mans specifications, just in case the buyer chooses to race their Ultima.

The Ultima Spyder

The Background.

When the development team at McLaren were looking for a suitable chassis to act as a test bed for the F1 drivetrain, they turned to Ted Marlow at Ultima Cars. For the best part of a decade, Ted and his team in the UK have been developing and refining specialised race cars and road-going variants that display incredible degrees of performance and handling. Ultima has recorded outright wins in the UK Supersports competition and it is a testament to the engineering prowess of Ultima Cars that McLaren chose Ultima as its testbed.

No slick newcomerm Ultima is the product of an intensive and dedicated research and engineering development programme that stretches back ten years. Ted Marlow and Steve Smith have, between them, over 30 years experience in producing high performance, specialised vehicles for both road and track.

The Ultima SportsThe Ford US spect Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) 5 litre injected motor propels a road-trim Ultima from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.9 seconds. An optional supercharger will add a further 30% to the power output which, in standard form, attains about 255 kw (325 bhp) at 5,800 rpm. This proven powerplant develops 405 Nm (300 ft/lbs) of torque at 4,800 rpm and is fully certificated to meet Emission Standards both here in Australia and the United States.

A Porsche G50 transaxle transfers this power to the road wheels, which are specially designed 17" billet split rims.

Braking is through 12" ventilated discs all round with 2 or 4 pot callipers fed by a split-circuit system.

Race drivers will find the Ultima totally at home on the track. The chassis is constructed from Mig welded 16 gauge tubing, the spaceframe chassis is panelled in NS4 alloy. Suspension is built around uniquely designed LM25 alloy uprights and is fully rose jointed. The geometry is maintained by double unequal length wishbones and adjustable coil spring dampers.

Straight line acceleration of one road-going Ultima produced figures of 6.8 seconds to 160 kilometers per hour and 14.4 seconds to 288 kilometers per hour. From these figures you can see that Ultima really is the last word in performance.

The importers, Ultima Cars Australia, are quick to point out that driving this car is perhaps the most gratifying part of Ultima ownership.

Ultima's track record is exemplary. But it is on the road where this car really excels.

No other road-going supercar gives such awesome performance. No other supercar delivers such refined predictable handling.

Ultima is perfectly safe at speeds well beyond those set by most established, high priced, sophisticated 'sportscars' and will outhandle them with ease.

In fact, it would be fair to say that the limits of the driver will be reached long before those of the car.

A rigorous continuing and successful racing campaign provides the most advanced testing programme.

Available as a two-seat closed Coupe and open Spyder, the car can be ordered in a variety of options to suit the individual. All cars are hand built in England and delivered fully compliant to Australian Design Rulings.

Road-going cars are fully complianced and certified for legal road use. Race cars can be ordered to exact requirements for a variety of uses and categories. Ultima Cars Australia will be happy to advise on all aspects of race preparation, including National, International GT and Le Mans specifications.
